Wow, we all basically agree on most things according to this quiz.

I wonder if this is accurate or inaccurate, largely speaking. No Northwestern-quadranters.

the problem with the test that it's calibrated wrong, it's that it's trying to quantify qualitative differences. the difference between an anarchist and a communist, or a communist and a liberal, aren't differences of "more left" or "less/more authoritarian", it's fundamentally different frameworks, which can't be put into numbers

I don't agree with that assessment, though. This is definitely the wrong scale, but that doesn't mean there can't be a scale in theory.

Presumably, you could:

1) Devise questions that council communists, stalinists, hoxhaists, trotskyists, ... will all answer differently, and

2) Devise a method of deciding which camp individuals most fall into.

Also, I tend to think that we all do agree in theory about lots of things. We all believe that Capitalism must be destroyed, and replaced by a better (read: some form of Communist or Socialist) system. That leaves a lot of room for disagreement, even fundamental disagreement, but the room for disagreement is limited by that fact. And I think someone else may have pointed this out, but even people who fall into "tankie" categories typically would grant the common man significantly more of what liberals call "liberties" than they get under classical liberalism. So there is some logic behind grouping us all together.

Eh, like many before me have said, this test is pretty flawed and can't effectively measure the distinctions between left-wing ideologies. Nearly all the questions are in the framework of capitalism, and if you break that framework at all, you're catapulted to the left.

There was a better political compass I did, that shows progressivism on social issues and authoritarian/libertarian on two different scales. As a result, I rightly appear less anarchist.

I'd say that represents my views reasonably accurately, despite the test being a bit flawed overall.

pretty much everyone seems to be bunched into that bottom left corner...

That was better than political compass.

^ This is a hell of a lot better. Takes into account that authoritarianism isn't the same as being reactionary.

Using sapplycompass, I got this:

@Lemur Isles Hey, comrade. Your quiz is a lot better. But why didn't it score this comrade on the Progressive/Conservative graph? Several people have reported this issue via Discord. Is it intentional?

Using the new compass, I took the test twice and got the results seen below. Seems that when it comes to anarchism vs statism I'm right in the middle.

Fun note: the one where I lean more towards anarchism was taken at 4:20 PM ;)
